Briefing
Jammu and Kashmir is a Himalayan union territory known for the Kashmir Valley, the Jammu plains, and shrines such as Vaishno Devi. Its economy rests heavily on horticulture (notably apples and saffron), tourism, and handicrafts like Pashmina shawls and papier-mache.
