Briefing

Punjab is a northwestern agricultural state often called the "granary of India" for its wheat and rice production, supported by extensive irrigation from the Indus river system. It is also known for its cultural traditions, including Bhangra and Gurdwaras such as the Golden Temple in Amritsar. The state shares its capital, Chandigarh, with neighbouring Haryana.
