Briefing

Uttarakhand is a Himalayan state formed in 2000, known as the source region of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers and home to major pilgrimage sites of the Char Dham circuit as well as hill stations like Nainital and Mussoorie. Its economy draws on tourism, pilgrimage, hydropower, and horticulture. Dehradun serves as the interim capital while Gairsain has been designated as a legislative/summer capital.
